Nichole's Kitchen At Cape Forchu is officially OPEN!

❤️ I scored big with an invite to the fully booked opening, and even better it was a behind the scenes peek. I’m honestly excited to try a restaurant with a lighthouse.

🍎 Cape Forchu Lighthouse’ unique apple core shape reaches skyward and is open for tours. Nichole’s Kitchen is located in the former light keeper’s dwelling.

The opening night called for a special curated 5 course menu consisting of:
🦞 Lobster Bisque - with actual chunks of lobster
🥗 Wedge Salad with tomato, bacon, blue cheese and a mild blue cheese dressing
🍤 Grits with cream, shrimp stock and old cheddar topped with Cajun spiced shrimp and peppers - yum!
🥩 Braised short ribs with sauce
OR
🐟 fish cheeks on garlic whipped potatoes
🧁 Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and mint.

🍹 Guests were treated to a delightfully refreshing passion fruit sparkler with spritz and blueberries.

🌿 Nichole is just as at home in the kitchen as she was outside gathering herbs to garnish the dish. The members of her kitchen staff are exceptional and the kitchen operated like clockwork, which is surprising for an opening night, but I’m sure this is due to Nichole’s experience and choice of staff.

📕 The regular menu was a hit earlier in the day, appealing to locals and tourists alike.

🦞 Lobster is the star - whether it’s a baked dip, lobster stuffed mushrooms, chowder, on a roll or atop a creamy mac and cheese. 🐟 For the fish lover you can try a haddock wrap, Sea Star salt fish cakes or the seafood chowder.

🍲 Non seafood apps and plates include loaded smashed potatoes, bruschetta, house made guacamole, soups, salads - house, Caesar and pasta, chicken club wrap and mac & cheese.

🧁 Mustn’t forget the dessert - your choice of peanut butter pie, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fondue or gateau St. Honore all at $7 each.

🙌 After sampling the five course special opening dinner, I’ll definitely be trying the regular menu.
